Accessing
Shakespeare
A 6 week course on approaching Shakespeare's language with confidence.
Accessing Shakespeare
With Richard Corgan

🎭 Feel confident tackling Shakespeare – even if you’ve never done it before. Shakespeare doesn’t have to feel intimidating, academic, or out of reach! This 6-week beginner-friendly course is designed for professional actors who want to finally get to grips with Shakespeare’s language, unlock the text, and perform it with confidence and clarity. Taught by acting coach Richard Corgan, we will strip Shakespeare back to what it actually is: playable, human, emotional drama written for actors. Richard has spent over 25 years working extensively on Shakespeare as both an actor and director, and his approach is grounded, practical, and actor-friendly. There’s no academic posturing, no expectation that you already understand iambic pentameter, and absolutely no judgment. Whether you’re new to Shakespeare or feel like you’ve ‘never quite got it’, this course gives you practical tools that you can use in auditions, rehearsals, and performances going forward. By the end of the six weeks, Shakespeare won’t feel like a mountain to climb. It will feel like material you’re excited—and equipped—to tackle.
